A new addition to my shop.

I thought It might be nice to let everyone see a small glimpse into the creation of one of my newest items.

This creation all started when I bought this awesome hand spun Tutti Fruitti yarn from Lambsears on Etsy. It's super bright & colorful -- the perfect touch for a Newborn photo prop :)

It arrived super quick. I was so excited to start working with it that I forgot to document the entire process... but hey atleast I have this much to show. Next time, I plan on doing this from start to finish.

and this big beautiful ball of yarn ...... turned into a gorgeous - rainbow of color!

Newborn 0-3 month Cocoon & Beanie Hat photography prop set. Cocoon & Hat have matching scalloped 'fan' edging & adorable wooden flower buttons -both are removable- and simply tied on with a bow of hand spun yarn. What a perfect pair. Just looking at these colors makes me wish I had a little baby & a camera! This set is sure to make Baby's first photos - just perfect!

My purchase from JujaCrafts on Etsy :)

I promised I'd write about my purchase at JujaCrafts & how much I love it! So here it is, finally.

JujaCrafts is this adorable little Etsy shop that specializes in handmade fabric flower appliques, hair accessories, brooches, shoes clips, etc. etc. and the list goes on. Along with having some of the prettiest flowers & coolest items on Etsy, they have awesome PRICES & great customer service! I contacted them asking if I could change things up & order different colors & they replied back very quickly & set me up with a custom listing all in the same day.

Not only do I love this shop, I ADORE their packaging. This is how my package arrived. Wrapped up in a pretty little box. Gosh! The best things always come in tiny packages :)

And drumroll, please.................

This is what I got! Two of the prettiest flower hair pins, one in Fuchsia & one in Cotton Candy Pink! I'm so happy with my purchase, I plan on going back for more very soon. I need one in Black and one in Aqua for Winter.

So... If you like what you see, go check out JujaCrafts on Etsy. On my next stop back, I also want to grab a pair of their SHOE CLIPS to add to my flats! Love em' & must have them. Hehe :)

I have some news... last night I had my 200th Sale! I'm so excited! I've been an Etsy member since Oct. of 2009, it's been just about 8 months since my first listing & I've already reached my 200 sales mark! ALREADY! In under a year! I've also recently updated my shop inventory to over 100 items for sale! I have to admit that I'm pretty proud of myself. I never thought I'd be here 8 months ago. I can't wait to see where I will be at my 1 year mark. Yay! What a way to start the day! :)

In honor of my 200th sale, I'm offering 15% off any purchase from A. Turner Designs your one-stop-shop for all your crochet items, original patterns & photography prop needs! This weekend ONLY! Did I mention you can use your 15% OFF code on CUSTOM orders too? Well, you can. Custom orders don't cost anything extra and are no holds barred. I've listed many new items, a lot of Spring & Summer designs. I seem to be stuck in a Girl rut! Everything I make is PINK! I've gotta start working on more boy's hats! Don't I always say that? I must admit though, that my girl's hats are my biggest sellers. Mommy's with boys where are you?!

Some new stuff!

I updated my Etsy shop with a couple new things this past week. Including a Medium sized Cuddle Blanket! It's a must see if you're looking for a new photo prop! It's awesome, if I do say so myself :)

Here it is, size Medium in Meadow - a gorgeous blend of Sage, Gold, Cream, and Blue.
Here it is compared to my Original cuddle blanket in size Small in
Sierra - a beautiful blend of rose, tans, and browns.
You can really tell the size difference. My Small (original) design is made for those brand new babies & at just about 20" in diameter - it's the perfect size to cover the surface of whatever your Newborn would be lying on. The Medium size at just about 30" in diameter - is perfect for 0-3 months and up! This would fit very nicely in just about any photo prop basket! I'm so excited to finally have this available in my shop & I can't wait to start working on the next size!

I was included in a Treasury!

Just wanted to share quick, that I was included in a Treasury :)

That's my Crochet PATTERN for my Lilac Newsboy Hat, which can be found in my shop: A. Turner Designs. I'm so glad it was chosen! :)

Click the photo above, to check out the other awesome patterns!

It's been a while...

I feel like I've been seriously neglecting my little blog & my shop this past week.. and I really have been. I've been working a lot at my second job (which I will hopefully be able to leave soon!) It's just taking up all my time & I feel like I don't get anything accomplished. I feel behind & like I'm constantly trying to catch up. Not to mention, my supplier is killing me with not having my buttons in!! That's another story though... so, I'll save that rant for another time haha.

Spring is definitely here & in full swing, so here are some Spring Beanies to brighten up your day!

I know I usually do a Feature Friday, I just don't have the time for it. If I get the time later today, I will add a second post! Sorry for the lack of posts everyone! I promise I'll be back & better than ever, very shortly!

I want to do a giveaway very soon, but I'm not sure it would work out well because I have a small amount of followers. I was thinking of doing it through another blog, but I'm not sure who to ask. So please give me some input!! What would you like me to offer as a giveaway? Patterns, a hat, a scarf? Take a look at my shop A. Turner Designs & let me know what you want!

Thanks everyone!

Ok, so it's been a while. Things have been hectic as usual. The weather has been so wonderful here that when I wasn't working - I was out enjoying it! Another NEW design

So last night I decided to try my hand at something new. I wanted to make something different and BRIGHT! So I decided to use up some of my bright Grape yarn. I wanted to make a beanie but add something different to it - so I started crocheting and got this brilliant idea. So I cut and started sewing and this is what I ended up with:

La Mariposa!
An adorable Spring beanie hat with a plaid butterfly applique!

What do you think?

OK. So it has been done before - but not by me! Haha. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! I'm going to make another design tomorrow - maybe I will do a flower applique this time. I'm not sure just yet. Stay posted and you will see! :)

P.S. CLEARANCE SECTION IN MY SHOP HAS BEEN UPDATED! CHECK IT OUT! Everything is 50% off the original price!

New item post.

Just listed 2 brand new Spring designs in my shop. I thought I would dedicate a post to them. I've been working like crazy on creating some new Boy's items, but it's so hard. Boys are hard, they like plain things. Maybe I am just biased because I have a girl and I love making girly things (even if I don't like wearing girly things) haha. I'm not sure, but my shop is seriously lacking in that department. I'm kind of at a loss. I think I need a little inspiration.

Boy's design, striped Cable Beanie with a brim (below)

The chain scarf is one of the most unique scarf styles I have seen and as of late it has become very popular. I thought it would be nice to design my own and this is the end result. I love it. I think I'm going to make one for myself very soon! This scarf is so versatile, it goes with just about anything. You can dress it up or down - It's chunky but VERY light weight and can be worn throughout the entire year. I also love that it is convertible. You can wear it long as an eternity scarf or wrapped around twice as a cowl or neck warmer. You can wear it with or without the cuff showing. I think I'm going to make a longer version as well for more wearable options.

(now that I know people like it, I'm going to work on some in other colors!)

Convertible Chunky Chain Scarf with a Cuff (below)

These are my only 2 updates for now. Thought I'd throw in a post today. Hey, at least I'm not just posting on Friday now!

Check them out in my shop here.

Feature Friday:

Hi again, I guess I really have to work on finding time to post during the week and not just on Friday. I have 2 custom orders that I am working on currently, so I don't have too much time to waste. It's that time again: Feature Friday.

This week's feature is: mydistinctstyle

My Distinct Style
's Etsy shop has some of the prettiest and most vibrant baby hair accessories around! What's better? They are all lined to hold even the tiniest bits of hair! Mom's of little baby girls - with warmer weather just around the corner, I'd suggest taking a look at this brand new shop. Snap clips to Alligator clips - this shop has some gorgeous blossoms that are sure to brighten your little one's spring & summer wardrobe! I wouldn't pick just one!

Feature Friday:

I've decided to make every Friday's post a "FEATURE FRIDAY" where I will feature something awesome I've found on Etsy. I might feature a seller, or an Item, maybe even one of my recent favorites. I'm going to switch it up from week to week -as not to bore you!

In this week's Feature Friday I'm featuring etsy seller: cazhoffy!

Her Etsy shop, Seamingly Possible is one of the most adorable shops I've seen on Etsy! Her pretty little baby slippers, burp cloths, change/play mats, etc. (in coordinating colors, might I add!) would make for the perfect baby shower gifts! They are so unique and colorful, the only problem I could see myself having, is that they are just too darn cute to choose from.

What's the BEST part of this FEATURE? Her FEBRUARY OFFER -
Buy any pair of booties together with a set of burp cloths and save $6
Buy any pair of booties together with a single burp cloth and save $4
(savings refunded via paypal, offer excludes sale items)
